The picture above was taking during our initial assessment
day with the seminary wives. Here is a
handful of the eighteen total seminary wives we are blessed to work with every
day. This classroom is where Melanie and
I host our English sessions. Eighteen
desks and women crammed into this tiny classroom definitely makes things nice
and cozy! These women are such a joy to
be around it makes the cozy quarters all worth the while.
As Mel and I enjoy the weather here in Lusaka, we enjoy tutoring outside under a canopy near Mrs. Nyrenda’s kitchen. The canopy is often the only thing between us and the torrential downpour. Despite all the rain, these children show up for each and every tutoring session. Melanie and I have also caught children climbing the trees that overlook our tutoring area. They are so joyful and motivated to learn!
The chapel is such a beautiful sight but what happens
inside the chapel is the most powerful piece.
Every morning at 7:30am all of the seminarians gather together to listen
to a twenty minute chapel. Although the
accents are a little challenging to catch on to at times, I am so inspired by
the work that God is doing with these men and their families. Melanie and I get goose bumps every time we hear
them singing praises to God. They are
all so musically gifted and their harmony is amazing!
Although we have never seen the inside of the seminary housing besides Mrs. Nyrenda’s house, Melanie and I are in awe that a family of six can live in a house that seems so small! Pictured above is a group of four of the houses that the seminarians and their families live in.
My kids can't imagine climbing a tree to peek in school. The curiosity the kids must have is amazing. Enjoy the weather, we are suppose to get 3-5 inches today. Miss you!
